2007 unfolds

Long time club member (and bloody nice bloke) Neil Green acquired this 280 Brooklands about 3 years ago with the intention of tidying up the shabby body work. With a mere 34,200 mile's clocked in it's life by a Mrs Carlaw who was the M/D at Wylie's Ford in Glasgow. Neil was'nt rushing into this project as he had a pretty nice 2.8 special in the garage already,

Striped to a bare shell, panels renewed here and there (well everwhere actually) Neil plodded along doing bits and bobs(no rush). A Year and a half later the unthinkable happens,, he pushed when he should have pulled and the good lady Doreen had a new addition on the way. So , one of the cars had to go! Neil sold the special and swore he would have the Brooklands ready for the 2006 show season.

Well with the new baby on the way Neil realizes that he better get his skates on to get the jobs done if this motor is to be on the road before the wife is on the birthing table!!

Well he did get stuck in, without cutting the corners, just look at the job Neil's made of that engine, it gives you a good idea of the attention to detail he's put into his car. This car is sure to generate a lot of attention.

CONGRATULATIONS,!! Neil and Doreen have a lovely wee boy called Darren (not Brookland as Neil wanted). The Brooklands has had it's famous green paint lovingly applied and running gear fitted. The fixtures and fittings have been put in place. Mostly genuine Brooklands parts, which are becoming very hard to find!!

Well he has it finished now and it's looking great. Pictured here with Keith's white 2.8 on its first run to Balloch Castle in May 2006.

With numerous shows under the belt for 2006, Neil's Brooklands ventured south to the Silvertone race track for Ford Fair.
